Here to help!
Life is just a series of changes. Ever stop to think about that? We are constantly transition from one thing to another - big and small. From your phone upgrade, to being acquired, to sending your oldest to college, we are changing - like or not. And what’s ironic is that despite our constant need to change, human beings really don’t like it. (Nope. We don’t like it much at all.)
I have spent most of my career learning and teaching others about the change process. I have watched good companies do really ridiculous things in the name of something better. In the process, I have seen some bad things happen to really good people.
Even changes that end well (and there aren’t a lot, <30% succeed), run leaders and people out of energy, craving clarity and nostalgic for times gone by.
I believe we can do better.
I help people just like you get clear about what is needed for success. Whether it’s with complex organizational changes or if you are just ready to make a career move, I can help you bridge the gap of where you currently are to where you want to go.

The Comprehensive Approach
“There are people that come into your life and you’re not always exactly sure how it even happened, but you’re thankful it did. Courtney Smock has been one of those people in my life as both a coach and a mentor. Courtney’s belief that people are creative, resourceful and whole is more than a concept that she understands, it is one she lives and reinforced throughout our coaching relationship. This is important because she isn’t interested in becoming your guru, she’s interested in you having the tools to move forward in your own strength and abilities – not hers. Our coaching relationship equipped me to deal with limited thinking and negative voices, to see situations from other perspectives and possibilities, and to embrace others with less judgement and more care.
And for this, I’ll always be thankful.”
“Courtney has a keen sense of coaching and consulting. She leverages her gifts of active listening, strategy and asking the right questions to help the person move to their own answers. Her sense of humor and ability to stay on the issue and not get into the story helps bring the person to clarity quicker and with a sense of empowerment. As a facilitator, she is truly amazing to watch in action. She is fully engaged with her participants and brings great energy to the learning experience!”

"Courtney was very helpful during our training to recognize that we need more time to discuss the process. I enjoyed Courtney’s teaching approach with the open discussion and sharing examples of our challenges. It was very helpful for Courtney to have familiarity with the design sprint process. "

I've had the privilege and pleasure of working as an HR colleague with Courtney Smock at Rockwell Collins. Courtney is an enthusiastic and business-focused partner. She is creative, resourceful and innovative in the development of solutions that build business effectiveness and employee engagement. Courtney is a skilled practitioner in organizational development and change management. She is masterful at learning facilitation and coaching. She is cheerful and tenacious in the face of obstacles, and can find multiple pathways to achieving goals. She enlists the best contributions of others in order to solve business challenges. Courtney was highly effective in leading two global organizational development projects which produced exceptional business results: Manager Assessment and Performance Excellence. Through research and assessment, she determines the right solution and then works tirelessly to make it happen. She works smart as well as hard, and doesn't waste time on things that don't add value. Her passion and abilities coupled with her practical execution skills will always make her a valuable asset in anything she pursues.
Beyond the skills and abilities required to meet objectives and achieve goals, Courtney is a joy to work with. Her core values reflect an individual who is empathetic and genuine. Her willingness to maintain a sense of humor when facing obstacles is refreshing. When she listens, she really hears. She knows when to be tender, and when to be tough. She is humble and can laugh at herself, making others feel at ease around her while also making herself approachable during times of adversity. Her ability to interject light-heartedness at just the right moment reflects a level of emotional intelligence that is nothing short of brilliant. These character traits will likely never appear in a job or consultant description, but tip the scales in why it is without hesitation that I highly recommend Courtney, as both a professional and as a person.
